Ok, Basset Hounds are fun to draw. There are those ears, those wonderful droopy eyes, and that wonderful Basset character. The ears are meant to funnel those smells into the nose, just in case you were wondering! Everything has a purpose. Gotta love it.
Now, on to Nick's Picks!
Let's start with this first Basset Hound artwork that looks great for display...just in case the Basset Hound painting above isn't your favorite. :)
The subject in this Basset Hound picture pretty much speaks for itself…

The man walking with the child on the beach would be, by itself, a beautiful black & white photo. However, this one has that extra special touch: the Basset Hound as the faithful companion. This Basset Hound picture is not only charming, but the photo quality is absolutely beautiful. I love color photos, but black & white has a special place in my heart, as I’m sure it does in a lot of people’s. If it didn’t, you wouldn’t see photographers doing such beautiful work out there for years. I've actually thought about doing some paintings of a Basset Hound picture, even in black & white too...even on the canvas, it has a really interesting feel that affects the mood of the art lover.
There is another point to this Basset Hound picture though…
One can only guess if he occasionally drags his floppy ears in the water here ‘n there!

This Basset Hound picture is the classic good all ‘round Basset Hound. He’s standing there all posed with his sad droopy eyes. If we didn’t know better, you’d think he was all depressed in this Basset Hound picture...agh!
However, that’s how the Basset Hound picture gets ya! You can’t help but feel something for him. He’s milkin’ ya for all it’s worth with those eyes!
Lots of Bassets in this one! It’s good to not only have prints and posters of one or two dogs as the subject. However, since it’s usually only feasible to have a few dogs as pets at any given time, why not at least dream about it with your Basset Hound picture, artwork, painting, print, sculpture?! ;)

Once, while helping a friend in an English Mastiff puppy kindergarten class, there was a Basset Hound puppy. And he was an instant hit! While trying to teach the dogs to “come”, this puppy would always seem to trip over his ears. It never failed. Now that would have made an interesting Basset Hound picture!
However, not to be deterred, this resilient cutie got up and continued to waddle towards his mom. Wonderful!
